La nature ne recule pas. Elle avance déjà vers le repos

Nature doesn't fall back. It was already moving forward into rest.

October is that month where the time changes to wintertime, at least in Europe. This year, it’s on the 25th of October. In the US, it’s on the 1st of November.

You may have noticed the birds leaving for warmer climates. The leaves in the trees will start dropping soon depending on where in the Northern Hemisphere you are. It’s a time to start reflecting and slowing down. In addition trees dropping their leaves, many animals begin slowing their activity around the same week as the time change, it’s like an old seasonal overlap between the human calendar and the natural one.

Many essences exist to help with this time of year.

The Essence Spectrum Chart from Spirit-in-Nature is divided into two parts, according to predominantly male and female essences, and into Quadrants representing the stages of life and the seasons of the year. Each Quadrant also represents a complete cycle. Quadrant III is the symbol of autumn and maturity, expressing the continuation of masculine action to complete the stains and harvest of deep maturity and great strength - Almond, Pear, Avocado, Apple and Orange are part of this quadrant. Here we collect the wisdom acquired during our journey, with these elixirs that bring strength, power and the will to build and achieve. On our downloads page, you will find a pdf of the Essence Spectrum Chart. Also, you will find more information on each essence on our web site, with, in addition, a mention of use for animals.

In traditional Chinese medicine the autumn corresponds to the metal element which governs the lung and large intestine meridians. The emotion of the lung meridian is grief and loss. But it is also through the lungs that we renew, breathing out the old and taking in pure air, new ideas, inspiration. The major emotion of the large intestine is letting go, eliminating old mental habits, melancholy, sadness, living in the past. Through the large intestine meridian, we eliminate waste - all that is unnecessary and toxic - from our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. As we release through the large intestine meridian we receive through the lung meridian - inspiration, self-worth, exuberance.

Here are some of the Pacific Essences which correspond to the metal element which you may find useful this autumn: Amethyst, Camellia, Citrine, Fairy bell, Obsidian, Polyanthus, Purple crocus, Rhodonite, Sand dollar, Starfish, Vanilla leaf, Metal element.

Autumn is also a time to reconnect with Nature and the energies of the Earth. Several essences can help with this: Aristea, Bear, Devic Essence, Earth Essence, Gaia, Green Bells of Ireland, Green Bog Orchid.
